The chain wear gauge is used to measure the expansion and with that the abrasion of the chain. First, the measuring wheel is set to zero. The measuring pins can then be hooked into the chain. It is designed for measure 10 chain links. The measurement is done by turning the wheel. The measuring range is between 0 and 1.2 mm. Changing the chain is recommended if the value exceeds 0.6 mm. This value may vary depending on the type of chain.
