1958 was the year Scott was born. Ed Scott, an engineer and skier from Sun Valley, developed the first aluminium ski pole. Due to its outstanding properties, it was far superior to the then common bamboo or steel poles and replaced the conventional ones. The company Scott USA developed from this success and grew to one of the most prominent manufacturers for the most different sport articles.
In 1970, Scott created special protective goggles for motocrossers, which were launched on the market in the same year. Since then, Scott develops motocross & enduro articles from head to toe, so nothing's blocking the way to a full gear set. Scott is also known as a full-range supplier in the mountain bike & downhill sector. The Scott brand also leaves nothing to be desired in the leisure sector. Stylish and functional, Scott streetwear regularly comes around the corner with new colors and functions.
Scott concentrates mainly on the areas: mountain biking, winter sports, motor sports, especially motocross, as well as running and is nowadays the supplier of the ProTour Team HTC Highroad, the Commerzbank Triathlon Team and the German Dirtjumper Team.
Athletes are still supported by Scott: Mark Cavendish - cyclist, Marc Coma - enduro athlete, Thomas Frischknecht - multiple mountain bike world champion, Luke Jarrod McKenzie - triathlete, Ina-Yoko Teutenberg - cyclist, Nino Schurter - cyclist, Cody Webb - enduro rider, Justin Barcia - motocross, Kyle Jameson - freestyle mountain biker.
