Different spoke lengths and spoke angles between the drive and brake sides of the hub are one of the biggest weaknesses of wheels, as the flange distances are asymmetrical to the center of the hub. The Equal Flange System (EFS) has symmetrical flange spacing, allowing symmetrical spoke angles. Since the same spoke length is used on both flange sides, an exactly equal spoke tension can be generated on both sides. As a result, this leads to an extremely stable and physically optimal wheel.
