The Maciag Offroad Team made the new Acerbis protectors available to me in time for the summer. Since I always use my usual protector jacket, I was very excited to test the Acerbis chest protector and protection shirt.

Acerbis is an Italian equipment brand that offers a wide range of products especially for offroad sports. Acerbis stands out on the market with its quality, design and optimum wearing comfort. That's exactly what I noticed when I opened the package yesterday, the chest protector and protection shirt are real eye-catchers. I was eager to see how they would feel and prove themselves when I riding.

After I had unpacked the protectors enthusiastically, I was very excited about the chest protector. The design and workmanship are of very high quality and modern. I was able to adjust the chest protector to my size using the adjustable shoulder and waist band closures. After putting it on, I immediately headed for the forest.

The chest protector pleasantly fits and even after some hill climbs and demanding passages, the protectors do not limit my range of movement on the motorcycle. The chest protector does not only look amazing, but also ensures good ventilation while riding. This was a big plus on this particularly hot day. A further advantage is the box structure, which has an optimal protective effect. In addition, there are solid plates, which are enclosed in soft foam. These provide very good wearing comfort with comfortable shock-absorbing protection.

With my body size of more than 190 cm (6'3"), it is important to me that the chest protector can be adjusted to my site optimally. The Acerbis chest protector is adjustable in size by a shoulder strap closure (from 160 to 190 cm (5'3" to 6'3") height) and a waist strap closure. The closures are reinforced for additional protection.

Another feature is the removable front/back protection as well as the removable lower plate, which allows a neck brace to be work at the same time. Until now, it was very important to me that the upper body protectors offer optimal protection for my coccyx. That's why I always used conventional protector jackets. Until now, there weren’t many breastplates with coccyx protection that I personally liked. Therefore, I was even more pleased that the Acerbis chest protector also offers coccyx protection. It is easily removable for riders who prefer not to have a coccyx protection.

I wore the protection shirt for the first time in combination with the chest protector. It is light, very comfortable and feels like a second skin. Visually, it looks especially good in combination with the chest protector. My concerns that I would sweat a lot because of the high temperatures in the outfit were cleared up quickly. Exactly the opposite was the case. The shirt is very well ventilated due to the very breathable fabric. Thereby, the accumulation of heat is prevented. Furthermore, the Acerbis protection shirt offers a good range of movement.

Due to its elastic material, the protection shirt has adapted to my movements very well. In addition, the shirt has removable shoulder and elbow pads made of memory foam, which individually adapt to the arms and are very comfortable to wear.

The combination of cheat protector and protection shirt is perfect. Both products are also absolutely recommended individually. However, I advise you to buy the combination, since this investment is really worth it. Both products can be combined optimally, since they are perfectly coordinated optically and technically. The combination not only looks good, but also is excellent in terms of range of movement, breathability, lightness and protection.

CONCLUSION

Acerbis is one of the leading manufacturers when it comes to protectors, which proves the quality and design of the equipment. I am very satisfied with both the chest protector and the protection shirt. I tested them over the sunny weekend and can only recommend them. So far, I have nothing to complain about and I am very satisfied with the products. I particularly like the fact that the protection shirt and chest protector feel very good and fit comfortably. I can move around perfectly. The highlight is that the chest protector is adjustable and can also be adapted to thicker clothing. Therefore, in my opinion, it's a good choice, as it can be worn all year round and can be combined perfectly.
