We tested the FOX Speedframe Pro Helmet for you!

Safety first! No matter if you are on the trail or simply want to go for a comfy ride - a helmet is a must! Over the last few weeks, we tested the FOX Speedframe Pro for you. There are two versions of the Speedframe helmet: One, the cheaper basic model, and two, the slightly more expensive pro model. In this report, we will briefly introduce you to the differences and the characteristics of these helmets.

The Look

First of all: Both models have the unique Speedframe look. With the prominent ventilation slits around the forehead area and another 16 on the top, it is not only unmistakable in looks but keeps your head cool on technical trails as well. We tried on the Speedframe Pro in both Camo and Navy design and were really impressed with the colors and the matt finish. Furthermore, the sides of the helmet and the visor make the helmet look narrower and underline an individual look.

The Fit

Overall we were very enthusiastic about the fit of the helmet. It fitted perfectly right away. If not, however, it offers many adjustment possibilities, as well as padding in different thicknesses to suit every biker's head. We noticed that the Speedframe, compared to the Fox Flux, sits even more stable on the head. This is due to its low position in the back of the head which offers more safety in case of a fall. At the same time, it is shaped in such a way that the ears have plenty of room, to provide sufficient comfort. Even for riders wearing sports glasses. We wore the helmet in size L with a weight of 395g. This makes it not the lightest, but it is definitely not one of the heavier models. The helmet sits very lightly on the head and does not feel uncomfortable even after a long ride!

Features

In comparison to the basic model, the pro version has a MIPS protection system and a fidlock lock. The easy handling of the closure, when putting on and taking off the helmet really appealed to us. The Speedframe has a recess at the back so even riders with google will enjoy it. Another useful feature is the adjustable visor, which can easily be folded upwards in small steps. This makes it easier to place a goggle under the visor when not riding. If you want to use the helmet with a GoPro, there is enough space on the top of the helmet and under the adjustable visor.

Summary

The Speedframe Pro has inspired us in every aspect and will definitely be part of our next tours! We can recommend it to every trail junkie. For riders with less budget, the basic version is the one to choose, as it is convincing even without the additional features.
